Discounts, Coupons, and Sliding Scale Codes
A family’s socioeconomic status (or class) is one major predictor of a child’s academic success.1 Since 1990, achievement gaps between class and racial groups have marginally decreased in some areas, but leveled out or even continued to grow in others.2 Without mechanisms for equity and justice built in, private tutoring can easily increase and magnify these gaps.
I strive to create a tutoring environment that is supportive of and accessible to any child who wants help. To make sure my tutoring is available to families who most need it, I offer several types of discounts. I also keep sliding scale spots open on an ongoing basis, which you can reserve at the bottom of this page.
